Google Ads

Functional guide for configuring the Google Ads purchase conversion integration in Pharos.

This guide explains the Google Ads integration in Pharos from a functional point of view.

What Is This Integration

The Google Ads integration sends server-side purchase conversions from Pharos into Google Ads.

It is designed for businesses that want successful Pharos purchases attributed back into Google Ads conversion reporting.

When to Use It

Use Google Ads when you want:

  • server-side purchase conversion tracking from Pharos
  • ad performance reporting tied to completed purchases
  • a conversion signal that does not depend only on browser-side measurement

Prerequisites

Before configuring Google Ads, make sure:

  • you have a Google Ads account and conversion action
  • you have the developer token
  • you have the customer ID
  • you have OAuth client credentials and a refresh token
  • you know the conversion action resource name
  • your traffic flow preserves Google click identifiers when buyers reach checkout

How to Configure It in Pharos

  1. Open the Google Ads integration page in admin settings.
  2. Enable the integration.
  3. Enter the developer token.
  4. Enter the customer ID.
  5. Enter the login customer ID if your Google Ads setup requires it.
  6. Enter the OAuth client ID and OAuth client secret.
  7. Enter the refresh token.
  8. Enter the conversion action resource name.
  9. Save the settings.

What Happens After It Is Enabled

After the integration is enabled:

  • Pharos stores the required Google Ads credentials
  • successful purchases can be sent as server-side purchase conversions
  • Pharos uses captured Google attribution identifiers when they are available

How to Verify It Is Working

You can verify the setup by:

  • completing a purchase that originated from a Google Ads click
  • confirming the conversion appears in Google Ads
  • checking that the conversion action matches the one configured in Pharos

Limitations or Important Notes

  • the current setup is focused on purchase conversions only
  • attribution depends on Google click identifiers being present and captured before purchase
  • this is not a full-funnel event integration

Troubleshooting

If conversions do not appear:

  • confirm the integration is enabled
  • confirm the credentials and conversion action are correct
  • confirm the buyer reached checkout with a valid Google click identifier
  • confirm the completed purchase is the type of event your business expects to track

Functional Summary

The Google Ads integration lets Pharos report completed purchases back to Google Ads as server-side conversion events when the required credentials and attribution signals are available.
