Mixpanel

Functional guide for configuring the Mixpanel analytics integration in Pharos.

This guide explains the Mixpanel integration in Pharos from a functional point of view.

What Is This Integration

The Mixpanel integration sends supported Pharos events directly into Mixpanel for product and funnel analysis.

It gives your team a way to track checkout and billing behavior from Pharos inside Mixpanel.

When to Use It

Use Mixpanel when you want:

  • direct product analytics in Mixpanel
  • visibility into checkout and subscription behavior
  • control over which Pharos events are sent and how they are named

Prerequisites

Before configuring Mixpanel, make sure:

  • you have a Mixpanel project
  • you have the project token
  • you know whether you need a custom Mixpanel API host

How to Configure It in Pharos

  1. Open the Mixpanel integration page in admin settings.
  2. Enable the integration.
  3. Enter the Mixpanel project token.
  4. Enter a custom API host only if your setup requires one.
  5. Review the list of supported Pharos source events.
  6. Enable or disable each event as needed.
  7. Override the outgoing event name if necessary.
  8. Save the settings.

What Happens After It Is Enabled

After the integration is enabled:

  • Pharos checks your per-event mapping settings
  • enabled events are sent to Mixpanel
  • disabled events are skipped
  • renamed events use the configured external event name

How to Verify It Is Working

You can verify the setup by:

  • triggering a supported event in checkout or billing
  • confirming the event appears in Mixpanel
  • confirming the event name matches your configuration

Limitations or Important Notes

  • only supported events are available
  • the integration depends on a valid project token
  • custom API host configuration should only be changed when your Mixpanel setup requires it

Troubleshooting

If events do not appear in Mixpanel:

  • confirm the integration is enabled
  • confirm the project token is correct
  • confirm the specific event is enabled
  • confirm the API host is correct if you changed it from the default

Functional Summary

The Mixpanel integration lets your team send supported Pharos events into Mixpanel with per-event enablement and naming controls for product analytics and funnel reporting.
