Xero

Functional guide for configuring the Xero accounting integration in Pharos.

This guide explains the Xero integration in Pharos from a functional point of view.

What Is This Integration

The Xero integration stores the credentials and tenant configuration Pharos needs for Xero-related accounting workflows.

It is intended for businesses that use Xero as part of their accounting stack.

When to Use It

Use Xero when you want:

  • Pharos connected to a Xero tenant for accounting-related workflows
  • your team to centrally manage Xero credentials in Pharos admin

Prerequisites

Before configuring Xero, make sure:

  • you have a Xero account
  • you have the client ID and client secret
  • you know the tenant ID you want Pharos to use

How to Configure It in Pharos

  1. Open the Xero integration page in admin settings.
  2. Enable the integration.
  3. Enter the client ID.
  4. Enter the client secret.
  5. Enter the tenant ID if your setup requires a fixed tenant target.
  6. Save the settings.

What Happens After It Is Enabled

After the integration is enabled:

  • Pharos stores the Xero credentials for the business
  • the integration becomes available for Xero-dependent workflows
  • the saved tenant configuration determines which Xero tenant the business expects to use

How to Verify It Is Working

You can verify the setup by:

  • reopening the settings page and confirming the integration remains enabled
  • confirming the intended tenant information is saved
  • validating any Xero-dependent workflow your team uses

Limitations or Important Notes

  • this setup is business-specific
  • the integration is not fully configured without valid credentials
  • Xero behavior depends on the specific accounting workflow your business uses with Pharos

Troubleshooting

If the setup is not working as expected:

  • confirm the integration is enabled
  • confirm the client ID and client secret are correct
  • confirm the tenant ID matches the intended Xero tenant

Functional Summary

The Xero integration allows your business to manage Xero credentials and tenant targeting in Pharos so accounting-related workflows can use the correct Xero configuration.
